Not medical advice
SoberHint is a daily text message service that delivers encouraging, supportive content. It is not a medical service, mental health provider, or clinical resource of any kind. Nothing on this site should be construed as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. SoberHint does not replace professional addiction treatment, therapy, or qualified healthcare. Always seek guidance from a licensed professional for medical or mental health concerns. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, call SAMHSA at 1-800-662-4357: free, confidential, 24/7.
About
If you want to know exactly what happens to your number, this is for you.
A daily text, no appRecovery is mostly just showing up. Every day, over and over again, even when it does not feel like it matters. Especially then.
SoberHint exists because some days the difference between holding on and not is a single sentence that arrives at the right moment. Not a program. Not a meeting. Not an app with a streak to protect. Just a message that says: you are still here, and that is something.
It is a text service on purpose. A text shows up the way a message from a friend does. It does not ask you to open anything, remember anything, or keep anything going. It just arrives.
Giving a stranger your phone number for something this private is a real thing to ask, so the rest of this page is the plain version of what you would be agreeing to.
What it is
Exactly one daily message, delivered each morning by default, on any phone that can receive a text. Reply MORNING, AFTERNOON, or EVENING to change the delivery time. On a milestone day the milestone line replaces the daily one rather than arriving on top of it, so it stays one text a day. There is no app, no account, no password, and nothing to install or delete later. Reply HELP for support.
What it is not
It is not treatment, therapy, counseling, or medical advice, and it is not a crisis service. Nothing here diagnoses you, tracks whether you are doing well, or reports on you to anyone. Nothing pretends to be a counselor, a sponsor, or a friend checking in, because a text message that pretends to be a person is worse than no text at all. It is secular and program neutral: no steps, no higher power, no framework you have to accept for the words to land. And it is not a replacement for real support. If you are in crisis, call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357, free and confidential, 24 hours a day. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Where the messages come from
There are 528 reviewed messages in the library. The daily rotation currently uses the 362 lines that are true for anyone on any day, and holds back 166 lines that only fit a specific moment: a holiday, a slip, the first week, a year in. The drafts are written with AI help, then read, cut, and edited by hand. The current library is marked approved. An automatic guard rejects medical advice, promises nobody can keep, shaming, and fate or manifestation talk. The general daily selection does not reuse an eligible line for 362 days. The first week of a free week is a fixed set of lines, and a milestone line can replace that day's general line.
The messages are also written to never name what you are recovering from. Whatever it is, it is yours to name or not name, and the texts are built to work either way. Nothing asks you to say it out loud, label yourself, or count anything for us.
What happens to your phone number
It is used to manage message delivery, consent, replies, subscription support, checkout, and cancellation. It is never sold, rented, traded, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. If you request a sample, start a free week, or start checkout, we send only the texts described in the consent language shown there. Service providers needed to operate SoberHint include Twilio for text delivery, Stripe for checkout and billing, AWS for storage, and Cloudflare for hosting. The free week never asks for a card. If you buy a plan, your card details go to Stripe, never to us. If you reply, the reply may be stored so that signs of distress can be spotted. You can have your data deleted by emailing us. The full detail lives in the privacy policy.
How you leave
Reply STOP to any message. One word. The texts end, and any billing ends, in the same moment, automatically. There is no login, no password, no account page to find, no email to write, and no phone call where somebody tries to talk you out of it. You never owe anyone an explanation. If you would rather handle the billing side directly, the portal at soberhint.com/cancel lets paid subscribers update a card or look at billing history. Reply STOP to cancel. That ends the daily texts and the billing in the same moment.
Who is behind it
SoberHint is built and operated by Sourdough AI LLC. It is a new product, and the honest version of that sentence is that it has not been around long enough to have a wall of testimonials, a press page, or a number of members to put in a headline. We would rather leave those spaces empty than fill them with people who do not exist. Everything on this site is a statement about the product itself, and every claim on this page is one you can hold us to.
The craving is loud and it is lying about how long it lasts.

There are no stock faces or characters on this site. What you see is the product itself: the messages, copied from the library that actually sends them.
